Celebrating America’s birthday is a time-honored tradition in the city of St. Louis. Every year, residents from across the region gather at the Gateway Arch National Park to enjoy live music, food and festivities at Fair St. Louis. This event has been taking place for nearly 40 years and draws an estimated 250,000 people. The four-day celebration begins on July 3rd and continues through the weekend until July 6th.

An impressive array of winged wonders can be seen flying overhead everyday of Fair St. Louis during the Boeing Air Show. From July 4th through 6th, there are five scheduled displays that will feature demonstration flights for crowds gathered directly beneath the Gateway Arch. Scheduled performers and feats will include the vertical takeoff and landing capabilities of the Boeing V-22 Osprey, the patriotic parachute presentation of the United States Army Golden Knights and the military might of the Lockheed C-130 Hercules. Other airborne events will include the 4-aircraft precision formations of the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team as well as exhibitions from pilots flying the Northrop Gruman T-38, the McDonnel Douglas T-45 and many more.
March to the Beat
The festivities begin at 9:30 AM on July 4th with America’s Birthday Parade which embarks at 20th and Market Streets downtown and ends at the famous Gateway Arch. This spectacle has been a tradition for almost 140 years, and sets the tone for a high caliber of entertainment that will continue over the next two-and-a-half days. World-class musical acts representing the finest from the rock and roll, R & B, country and singer/songwriter genres will begin each night around 6:30 PM and continue past 9:00 PM. On the final day, the live entertainment finale will feature a commemorative salute to 300+ service members and their families.

Each evening at 9:35 PM, Fair St. Louis celebrates the nation’s birthday with a breathtaking fireworks presentation from world-renowned pyrotechnician Edward Jones.
